Alternata (A. longipes). Therefore, it has been suggested, that pulmonary exposures to --+ Alternaria mycotoxins might be involved in lung diseases. However, no Alternaria mycotoxins have been found in infected tobacco leaves. A. alternata may produce the following --+ mycotoxins: --+ alternariol, --+ alternariol methyl ester, --+ altenuene, --+ altertoxins I-III, tenuazonic acid. In addition, A. alternata f. sp. lycopersici produces --+ fumonisins (FBI' FB2, FB3 ) . Alternaria mycotoxins are produced by many Alternaria strains in relatively large amounts usually at the pre-harvest stage of the crop.
