Once you choose a location to save the file, a requester will ask you to pick the size of the texture. You’ll want to select the appropriate size based on your project needs, although you can always resize the texture in Photoshop. The texture will be added to the Shader Tree and the Effect will be set to Diffuse Color for painting a color map on your object. By right-clicking the effect, you’ll get a pop-up that will allow you to select from a number of different effect options such as Bump, Reflection Amount, or even Fur Density.
However, you can use the brush nozzle to apply noise, or vary the opacity for creating layered effects. For instance, you can use several different concrete images and blend between them by varying how the images are painted on the object. You can get some extremely detailed maps with Image Ink. Another example would be that you could use a grayscale or color image to paint bump details by setting the image Effect to Bump in the Shader Tree, and check the Use as Mask option in Image Ink. With Use as Mask, Image Ink will then treat the applied image on the brush as a mask, through which you can then paint your bump details.
